Steel reinforced uPVC doors provide fantastic properties at great value. The uPVC frames consist of several air chambers that minimise heat transfer, resulting in outstanding thermal properties. The enclosed air chambers also absorb vibrations and soundwaves of various frequencies, providing excellent noise insulation. The uPVC frame in combination with the correct type of double or triple glazing, can achieve the best results for sound-proofing and protection against heat gain and heat loss.

Our European imported range of uPVC doors combines the latest technology with high quality materials and sophisticated engineering. The manufacturing facilities implement the most advanced processes for manufacturing and a strict quality control to ensure that the best product is produced.

uPVC doors are available in a number of different profile types and thicknesses. The thickness and type of the frame will usually determine the quality, stability and thermal and acoustic performance of the unit. Different products will have different overall thicknesses and will also have variance in the thickness of the external frame and the door panel/leaf, which holds the double or triple glazing of the door unit. uPVC doors are available in a variety of opening types, which will each have different profile qualities.

SCS only uses the best and most reputable materials for its products. Our uPVC profiles are supplied by Koemmerling, the leading profile manufacturer in Germany and internationally. This allows us to bring the latest designs and technology to the Australian market.

In the past there was some concern with uPVC surface damage and discoloration of the profiles due to extended UV exposure. SCS takes great care in only supplying tested and reputable German uPVC doors that have been tested and approved for use in the Australian climate.
The base option for uPVC is a standard white finish. The standard colours available for uPVC doors is limited to the approved range provided to us by our supplier. We have a certain number of standard laminate foils, in different colours and a woodgrain type finish, which we can supply in combinations to suit your project such as:

    • Laminate foil inside/outside
    • Laminate foil outside/white inside

Our standard range of laminate foil colours can be accessed via the Downloads tab.

SCS also offers a unique method of finishing uPVC doors, which is not offered by most Australian manufacturers, due to limited experience and expertise. Our uPVC windows can be spray paint finished in factory to any RAL colour of your choice. Similar to the laminate finish, we can complete spray paint finishes in the below combinations:

    • Spray paint RAL inside/outside
    • Spray paint outside/white inside

The full RAL colour chart can be accessed via the below link

The type of glazing selected for a door can influence the daylight transmission, thermal properties, sound insulation, safety, privacy and security of the whole window unit. It is essential that the glazing type is specified carefully for each project to ensure the end product provides a healthy, comfortable, temperature stable and quiet environment.

To achieve this balance, modern glazing technology has advanced to provide a wide variety of glass types and coatings. Double and triple glazed doors can use these glass types in combination in order to achieve the desired outcome. Double glazing combines two layers of glass, with an insulated spacer in order to increase the thermal insulation of a door. Triple glazing combines 3 layers of glass with two insulated spacers in order to achieve greater thermal insulation.

SCS supplies double and triple glazed doors in a wide variety of shapes and configurations. The shape of the door and opening type can influence the thermal and acoustic insulation, security, safety and structural strength of the door.

    Lift & Slide Door

European alternative to a standard sliding door. The moveable panel is lifted by the mechanism when operated. When closed the movable panel is dropped into the track, creating compression on the seals. This system is designed for increased thermal, acoustic and security performance. The hardware mechanism of the Lift & Slide door allows these doors to be made to extremely large spans in a 2-panel configuration, whilst still allowing smooth and easy operation.

    Tilt & Slide Door

Another popular European style opening, where the openable section tilts inwards at the top for ventilation and slides past the fixed panel. When closed the openable section pushes into the seals of the frame, increasing compression on the seals and reducing air penetration.

    Single & Double Doors

Standard side hinged doors can be made in inwards or outwards openings. In some materials, these doors can be made with a tilt & turn function in order to provide secure ventilation. Double door openings are commonly used for larger areas, often used as an entry to a terrace, veranda or garden.

    Bi-Fold Doors

Bi-fold doors are folding doors that were originally used as interior doors and furniture doors. Nowadays, they are used as room dividers, especially for large entertainment areas, such as terraces, verandas and balconies. Bi-fold doors are a popular and attractive feature for both high-end residential projects and commercial buildings.

The door security and overall appearance can be greatly influenced by the type and style of hardware used. Mounting a high quality, well finished handle to a door can completely change the design.

SCS supplies a range of handles for all our door systems in standard colours; silver, white, black, brown and bronze.

Flyscreens are an important component of all residential and commercial properties. They are mainly used as a barrier against insects, however with changing technology they can fulfill many other purposes besides preventing the intrusion of insects. Different materials types and configurations can be used for insect prevention (standard flywire), bush fire protection (metal mesh) and security (steel mesh and diamond grill screens).

For door installations, often a custom screen solution is required as every installation is different. SCS has a range of specialised screen contractors to engage, in order to supply a seamlessly integrated and practical screen solution.

There are multiple screen types available to suit door systems. The type of door, location and install conditions will influence the screening option available. The most common types of screens available for doors are hinged security doors (single and double), sliding screen doors (track system) and retractable screen doors.
